Hello!
I have the problem that the target segments are ALWAYS filled with MT when a job is created. How can I change this? I have attached screenshots with the settings, both of which are deactivated. Is there anything else I can do? I otherwise always have to set for each job so that these segments are not automatically filled.

If I got your problem correctly, you want to , first, fill the target segments with 100% and CM from your memory and then, where the system finds nothing, with MT. I suppose you have Deepl, LW or similar MT provider. So did you set the `priority order correctly in the Project settings?
For example, with this setup, matches from the TM will appear where found. The rest will be filled with Deepl MT in my case.
However, if you invert the order using the blue arrows, everything will be filled with MT:
Maybe this is not your issue, but this point is especially important when several TMs are used for pretranslation, being one of them more reliable than others, for example.

Hello. No, I don't want it filled with MT and I am looking for the setting where I can turn it off permanently. Turning off the above ones won't help.
It looks to me as though you have turned this off in your Options. Have you done it in your Project Settings for the project in question? Projects inherit the settings from your project templates, or from File -> Options if you don't specifically make use of templates, but if you adapt the Options after creating the project this will no effect on the project at all... deliberately so.

Hmmmm, but if you don´t have any MT source in your project settings, then segments with no matches from your TMs will remain blank. Even if you define to fill them with MT in the pretranslation window....
I do have a MT source in the project settings. But I dont want Trados to fill them in automatically. I turned this function off everywhere and it still does it.

You clearly have not. Can you create a short video perhaps and show us what you have done? Then we might be able to see where you have missed something and provide a more helpful answer.

Then just deactivate your MT and run pretranslation. Whatever the settings, segments with no TM matches will remain blank.
Then turn your MT source ON again and keep going segment by segment, so that the MT is applied only to each active segment.
But, yes, Paul is right....a video would be of great help!
But then I have a strange feeling that we are talking about different things....what appears in your target segments: the original text from the source segment (not translated)? Or the automatic translation provided by your MT source?
Have you guys even looked at my photos...I will try to explain it again.
1. I start creating a project.
2. I add the tm and the MT engine.
3. In the last window it says "Maschinelle Rohübersetzung erstellen" like "Create MT translation". I want this function turned off so it always says "Zielsegment leer lassen"... "Empty target segment". I DONT WANT THE MT TO FILL IN EMPTY SEGMENTS.
I turned it off at two locations, see pictures in the original post, please. But it is still not off. There is not much more I can explain... In previous Trados versions it was off.
Well, never happened to me, actually. So let Paul investigate the technical reason. However, as I say, translation sources can be changed at any time (activated/ deactivated). Don´t remove Deepl from the list, just deactivate it, run pretranslation and then activate it again.
Solutions like this I can figure out myself...I need a solution to turn it off. But thank you very much for your efforts!
