No second Studio 2019 on another computer. I tried offline deactivation as per video, entered the deactivation authorising code in Studio and clicked "Generate certificate". An error message appeared saying: "Error during offline deactivation. The deactivation certificate might be invalid. Compare the deactivation certificate with the authorisation in your SDL account." I cannot find the deactivation certificate and the authorisdation in my account.

I do not know what the "second fulfillment" is. I do not know where to reset the other one (the oldest). To have it free for future? What does it mean?

Hi Ute ,

Trados Freelance Plus offers the possibility to activate Trados on two different computers using the same activation code, it's still one Trados license, but it has this benefit. These two activations are named fulfilments.

Second fulfilment means the second activation - in the screenshot I shared above, you can see one is Available so you can activate it offline. 

After you activate it, you then are going to see in your account next to the license the Reset license button and that both activations are In Use. When you click on Reset license, it will show you two instances (fulfilments) of activation - one with today's date which shows you activated the license like I said in the first line, and the other should have an older date - you select to reset this older one, and you'll free it.

So, please try to activate Trados offline and let me know how that goes. If all works well with the activation, the next step is the reset I explained above.

Hi Anca,

I suceeded in creating an installation ID. However, where do I find to enter all the details: activation code, Installation ID and activation certificate. Under product activation I can only click on "Deactivate license key" and Show activation code" and "Deactivate Offline". 

Please help.

Sorry, it does not work, because in the button "product activation" it only shows "Deactivate license Key" and so on.

In my rws accoutn it shows as follows: Users11 * In Use11* Available00* *Extra Activations

If it is showing Deactivate license, then the license is already active.

Just as example, this is how my active Trados 2024 license looks like, as you can see, the option I have is Deactivate - which means my license is active. 

If you have a similar view - of course with 2019 instead of 2024, then you activated the license.

But does it look like mine? If it does, then the license should be active - it surely appears so in your RWS account with both activations In Use now.

Another question: On 11-09-2025 (my last activation) I had to enter language pairs. Somehow I forgot to enter GERMAN. At least I cannot find it in the list when opening a single file in Studio.

It says 0 available because both are in use, you need to reset the older activation as I explained in one of my replies above, here is how:

For the modifications of the language pairs, you need to modify in the Widows registry like in the article below:

If you are not comfortable that you can do this procedure yourself as it implies modifying the registry in Windows, please let me know, and I'll open a case with the technical team.

Hi Anca, 

Studio works so far. I have Windows 11 installed. In the Windows registry article it says: How to edit the Registry -Windows 8/10 machines only-  

I think this will not work then. I do not feel comfortable at all making changes to the registry. Would it make more sense to deactivate the license key and the software and delete all the SDL Studio prgrammes from my PC? And afterwards download a new 2019 version? I saw it is still available.

Hi Ute,

No, it does not make sense to do all that. 

Also, Trados 2019 is not tested on Windows 11, we stopped the technical and engineering support some years ago, and it was tested until Windows 10.

I'll open a case, so the technical team can help with the registry.
