Cannot open packages in Studio 2015

I'm suddenly experiencing problems opening packages in Studio 2015. The following message is displayed:

Error processing command line arguments: Access to the path 'C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Application Data' is denied.

I’ve seen suggestions in the SDL community to rename the folder, but AppData is a hidden folder. I’m using Windows 10.

Has anyone got a solution for this? Any help/advice would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply. I can unhide it, but I can't find 'Application Data'. I've tried renaming 'C:\Users\Ingev\AppData\Local' but that's apparently not allowed.

In the meantime I have found another post which describes exactly the same problem as I had (the full error message is identical to what I saw on my screen):
    community.sdl.com/.../31258

I have followed all the suggestions you gave in this other post, but to no avail. Meanwhile, I lost the job that required me to open this package, but I'd still like to find a solution, as I'm expecting recurrences. By the way, my client's security policy is such that I'm not allowed to send you the offending package. However, I should mention that the translator who ended up doing this job, had no problems at all with this package. So I guess the problem is on my side.

Any more suggestions? Btw, I just uninstalled and re-installed Studio 2015, but the problem persists.

    Regards,
    Inge
