termbase lookup not working in Trados Studio 2021

Hello,

I use Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338 and no longer have automatic recognition of terms (with red indications in the source segment) from the open termbases of my project. Early in a document, there is automatic indication of terms, but as I advance I rarely have any automatic lookup. Most of the time I see "Aucun résultat disponible" (No results) or "Recherche de termes en cours..." (Searching...). I have checked to see if the latter response means there is a term, which I can look up manually, but this is not consistently the case. As I said, I can look up terms manually.

I have tried restarting Studio, deleting then re-opening the termbases, and using only one termbase.  I have had this problem with two different projects with different termbases.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • I just wanted to share with the community that I found a workaround for my term recognition problem in Trados Studio, although it involves external software. I use Xbench (easy and cheap to obtain and use; I think there is a free/trial version) and can load the work files and the termbase in a project, making sure to check the "ongoing translation" and the "high priority" options for each file. Then when I run the QA in Xbench, it finds instances where the French term  is not represented in the English translation. Takes extra time, but at least I can ensure proper customer terminology when I have to.

Trying to do the same thing in Trados Studio QA generates an error message.

    Cheers, Anna
