Trados 2021 - Loose Project List, Customer, User after closing the app

Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338  Trados Studio 2021 Professional

After transferring application, settings, and files to a new computer, I loose the Project List, Customers, and Users that have been created. I'm unable to find any discussion that helps.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue. Thanks.

  • Hello,

Based on your query, it seems you're experiencing an issue with Trados Studio 2021 where your Project List, Customers, and Users are not being retained after transferring the application, settings, and files to a new computer.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this issue:

Step 1: Ensure that your Trados Studio 2021 application is activated with a subscription and not a perpetual license. This issue seems to affect only users with a subscription.

Step 2: Check if your computer is part of a domain network. This problem does not usually occur for computers that are part of a domain network.

Step 3: Before closing the application, make sure you are in the Files or Editor view. This issue seems to occur when the user is in the Projects view before closing the application.

Step 4: Note that only standard local projects seem to be removed. Cloud- or server-based projects, or projects originating from a package, seem to be kept.

If you follow these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue. If the problem persists, you may want to consider reaching out to RWS Support for further assistance.
