You don't need to deactivate the 2019 version via the Help tab activation link in Studio 2019.

 Instead, follow the instructions provided by Steven Whale here:

How to install Studio 2019 and 2021 side by side

For anyone else finding this thread in future, who really does want to deactivate Studio, follow this procedure:

Click on the 'Licensing and Installation Assistance' dialog bottom left of your screen:

That will open up an Online Chat box:

Click on 'Reset License'

Sorry Ali, i have just tried to upgrade the programme (following the procedure indicated), so i went in my account and try to download the upgrade available, but this failed and the following message appeared: 

In order to process this upgrade, please return any in use activations.

I think it is related to the deactivation of the previous version..

What do you think?

Then click on 'Reset License', select your license type and take it from there.

If that doesn't work, try filling in the following form:

Unless you have a Professional Network version, I think you can run 2019 on your 2021 license, but I think you will still have to deactivate the old one in order to activate the new one.

The problem here is the license simply hasn't been 'upgraded as follows

Once this is done, then all should run smoothly.

Hallo Steven, thanks for your kind reply. Indeed, I have clicked that banner and it was ok. After that, a blue banner appeared on the left (Upgrade1) and when I click this banner the folloqing message appears: 

In order to process this upgrade, please return any in use activations.

So, it doesn't work... 

My initial problem is that a have troubles when I try to deactivate the 2019 version, as I get the following error message: 

Error 143 Failure in accessing the license or persistaence in store.

Do you have an idea of how I could solve this problem?
