Thank you for your answer. The same issues occurred in multiple files. Were you testing them in the 'Assess Quality' mode though? I've imported a profile for the TQA and I am trying to make these changes while reviewing the document.

For example, when I click 'replace all', nothing happens. 

When using the spell checker, this is what the window looks like:

I have followed as closely your process as possible- but still cannot replicate what is happening.

For the record I have used a default TQA template.... 

Maybe try recreating the project- but this time simply use one of the default TQA templates.

Does the issue still occur?

Thank you again for your answer. I've created a new project and tested the find and replace function and the spell checker using a different TQA profile and I still get the same results. 

I've noticed a difference between your screenshots and mine though. In your first screenshot the 'Assess Quality' icon is not greyed out as opposed to mine. That means that the TQA mode is not activated, am I right? I clicked on the 'Assess Quality' button so that it looks like yours (not grey) and I can indeed use these functions. However, the only difference is that they are not marked as track changes in the target segment. 

So for example, if I want to replace a word:

After clicking replace this is what happens:

The word was replaced but the old word is not crossed out in red.
