Icons Studio 2019 sdlxliff and sldtm

I upgraded to Studio 2019.
The icons for sdlxliff and sdltm stayed white after opening a project in the Studio.
Then I tried to open a file by right clicking it and selecting "Open with > Trados Studio"
The icons of sdlxliff are now like the icons of the project
The icons of the sdltm stay white.

I uninstalled and re-installed Studio 2019.
I ran SDL Freshstart..

I have no clue on how to fix this.

Very, very annoying this

    Hi Helen,

There are a couple of things that you can try:

    First: (Rebuild Icon Cache)

    1. Open Folder Options to select (dot) Show hidden files and folders.
    2. Open a Windows Explorer window.
    3. Go to C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Local
    4. Right click on IconCache.db and click on Delete.
    5. Click on Yes to confirm the deletion.
NOTE: This deletes the file to the Recycle Bin. It is safe to empty the Recycle Bin when finished.
    6. Close the window.
    7. Empty the Recycle Bin.
    8. Restart the computer.
    9. When you go back, you will notice the Size of the IconCache.db file is smaller, and the  Date Modified is now the current date.
NOTE: If for some reason IconCache.db is not there or the size has not changed much, then just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a couple of times in some cases.
    10. The icon cache has been rebuilt.
    11. Open Folder Options to select (dot) Do not show hidden files and folders.

    Second: (Reset Icon Cache)

    1. Right click on a empty area of the desktop and click on Personalize.
    2. Click on the Display Properties link.
    3. Under Colors, select Medium (16-bit) and click on Apply.
NOTE: If you already have Medium (16-bit) selected, then select Highest (32-bit) instead. Sometimes you will need to do a restart first, then proceed to step 4. Try both ways.
    4. Now, select Highest (32-bit) and click on OK.

    Hope this helps

  • It has happened to me a couple of time as well.

A Repair under your Windows Control Panel should solve it.

  • Okay, I think I found the problem and I need the following files:

    Project.exe
    Sdltm.exe
    Sdlxliff.exe

In the map C://Program Files (64x)/SDL/Trados Studio/Trados 15 I have for these three an icon file
    So I have

    Project.icon
    Sdltm.icon
    Sdlxliff.icon

And that is why there is NO way to fix the icon problems for these!

And yes I did try that one also ;-) Didn't work either.
Now I am going to try the option of Kiyotaka Tsuchida. Even though, that doesn't make sense to me... but then... who knows :-)
    Maybe a pre-Xmas miracle :-D
  • There are a few SDL products showing up in Control Panel > Programs and Features.

Just to be sure that you repaired the SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR1 item.

BTW: I believe that the path you mentioned (C:/Program Files (64x)/…) is weird because Studio is a 32-bit application, so I think it shouldn't be there.
