Can't add term base (General error occurred)

Hi,

I'm having a problem adding term base file to SDL Trados. And it happens with every any translation / termbase file.

I did try uninstall and reinstall the trados, but it didn't solve the problem

Here I attach the error message.

Can you help me find a solution ?

    Hello ,

    The first thing to check would be that you have updated both Studio and Multiterm and both are on the latest stand.
    First- open both Studio and MultiTerm in turn and then go to HELP and 'check for updates' and install these.
    (Installing the cumulative updates often solves these issues).
    Now restart your machine and then Studio- has the problem been solved?

    If not- is the project a new or existing project?
    Have you already added a termbase? if so- please remove the termbase- close Studio, reopen and then try to re-add the termbase to the project (or alternatively try recreating the project from new).

    Is the problem fixed? If so please let us know which solution helped.

    I tried everything you said but the problem is not fixed..

    My Studio and Multiterm are on the lastest stand.
    And the problem occurs with both existing and new project.

    I even tried to open termbase files on my Multiterm but I couldn't.

    It says "the file can't be open because the it was created with a different version of multiterm".

     

    In fact, I have two licences so I use one in my office and another one on my laptop.

    What I don't understand is that there is no problem with the one that I use in my office. The problem occurs only with my Trados in my laptop...

     

    Can you please find a problem for this ? I have a very urgent translation project and I can't go fast without my termbase..

     

    P.S. I'm using Trados 2017

    Hello ,

    I have personally only ever seen this problem before with Windows 7 machines that had not been updated.
    Therefore as you have a 'Windows 10' machine, I would runs a full Windows update and ensure that all updates are not only downloaded but installed as well.- Sometimes you need to run the update a few times as you often see that certain patches were not installed sucessfully.

    Then download the following app from the SDL App Store
    appstore.sdl.com/.../ and perform a reset.
    (alternatively you can do this manually and reset (rename) the following folder
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14\ adding '_old'- to the end and then restarting Studio.

    Let me know if this works
