Microsoft Excel 2007-2016 (SpreadsheetML v. 1) not displayed after update

Hello,

I have just updated my SDL Trados Studio 2017 Freelance SR1 (build 14.1.6329.7), but if I go to File -> Options, I can't find any "Microsoft Excel 2007-2016" in the filetype list. I just can see "Microsoft Excel 2000-2003" and "Microsoft Excel 2007-2013".

I need a "SpreadsheetML v. 1" to work on my current translation.

What can I do?

    Can you try renaming this file and then restarting Studio?

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2017\Project Templates\Default.sdltpl

    This may force Studio to use the correct template with all the right filetypes.

    Thank you for your reply.

    I have renamed the Deafult file, but unfortunately there is no update in the filetypes. Microsoft Excel 2007-2016 is still missing.

    I'm attaching a few pics if this can help. I'm working on a project already created by the client.

    I can work on the file, I can confirm the segments translated and save them on the TM provided by the client, but I can't save the translation and therefore can't send the bilingual file back to the client.

     

     

     

     

    Is there anything else I can do?

    Ok - you didn't say it was a package/project from your customer. But even so this is very confusing since you are showing your main options and not your Project Settings. These won't affect your project anyway, but they should have all the filetypes. It really looks to me as though you upgraded and used an older template from a previous version. Perhaps try a full reinstall of Studio and also make sure that you are not using a Project Template from a previous version as the default in your Project Template settings.

    Clean install... try the following.

    1. Uninstall Studio
    2. Uninstall MultiTerm

    Now manually delete these folders if they are still there (back up your TMs, Termbases, AutoSuggest Dictionaries and Projects first in case you make a mistake):

    I think that's about it for a clean install. Then reinstall.

    If you still have problems after this I'd recommend you log a ticket with support so an engineer can look at this for you. This is clearly an installation problems and for licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help.     You're right, I haven't attached the right picture of the project settings. Here it is (no SpreadsheetML v.1 in the list, though) :

     

    I'll perform a clean install as you suggested.

    This is just to let you know that I have performed a clean install and then reinstalled Studio.

    It works perfectly now - no messages or notes regarding the file I'm translating. Plus, Microsoft Excel 2007-2016 appears in both the Options list and the Project Settings list.
