Hello,
I have text coming from WYSIWYG and it inserts for certain cases and was wondering if Trados can be protected just like the other html elements?

Ehm, what is "text coming from WYSIWYG"? Which format exactly was the source? Trados Studio can protect more or less any content you wish, it only depends how do you process the source.

So you should do some experimenting with the entity conversion withing the HTML 5 file type. This must be done before creating the sdlxliff file (importing html into Studio). Unfortunately I cannot tell you the settings, I always need to experiment with these until I have the proper solution for a use case.
