Image Importing? - Which way is most common for you?

I'm interested in knowing how the community imports their graphics into KC. Do you import them in bulk via the Web Client? Do you import them by drag and drop into the repository? Do you insert and import them as you write a topic? Just curious

  • We have customers who do all of the above. I came from a customer whose writers do the import as they write. They also do the drag and drop when they need a quick graphic saved to the repository. When I write, I add the graphics as I write. If I know that I'm going to need a few graphics and I want to take all the screen shots, I take them and then do a bulk drag and drop to the repository. I don't tend to use the Web Client import. I think it's just preference and comfort for most. You get used to doing it one way and you just continue down that path.

    I've never done a drag/drop to the repository. How do you control where the file end up in the database? In what program are you dragging/dropping?

    I did a reply to the communities email, but it never posted (apologies if we get a double post).

    You can only drag and drop into a repository folder that is for images. If you open the Browse Repository window and you can just select all your graphics, you can just drag and drop them into the folder and poof they upload to that folder. Nothing special about the program to do the drag and drop. It works from a Windows Explorer folder or your desktop for that matter.
