What is the purpose of <validateReferences>warning</validateReferences> in Trisoft.ContentImporter.config?

Hi,

Can someone explain what the setting

<validateReferences>warning</validateReferences>

does in local machine path \AppData\Local\RWS\InfoShare Client\14.0\Trisoft.ContentImporter.config

I changed the value from Error to warning in the hope that it would allow my import succeed evening though there are hrefs and conrefs that cannot be resolved, but it gets reset to Error.

Is this controlled by a server file?

Any advice appreciated,

Regards,

Ann

  • Thanks everyone, I have since learned that updates to Trisoft.ContentImporter.config need to be made when Content Importer is closed as this file is read when content importer is opened and these settings last for the duration of the session. The session's settings are then saved back to Trisoft.ContentImporter.config when you close the tool.

Therefore, the process is 1. close Content Importer 2. Make necessary updates to Trisoft.ContentImporter.config 3. Re-open Content Importer
