Currently, when translated content needs to be imported using the file-based translation organizer, the user has to go to the Tasks tab and click the Import Translated content option. Our client would like to have this automated. Can this be executed using a powershell script run as a Windows task or by some other programmatic means? I couldn't find any API's that would kick this off.

An alternative is to use Content Importer for the translation import - scripting is available to automate the import within this application. Check the on-line documentation for details.
Note that Content Importer in Tridion Docs 14 includes significant performance, UI and feature improvements. Starting with this release, Batch Import has been removed from Content Manager (i.e. the Web Client). See the Release Notes for a summary.
