Capcut subtitle exports breaking line formatting after Trados roundtrip

Has anyone else worked with capcut download SRT files inside Trados studio? I’m translating short-form video captions for multiple languages, and after exporting the translated SRT back from Trados, some of the line breaks and caption segmentation look different once reimported into capcut. The translations themselves are fine, but the visual pacing in the editor changes a bit compared to the original timeline. I’m trying to figure out whether this is more of an SRT formatting limitation or something specific to CapCut’s subtitle parser.

  • Hello,

This is more likely a CapCut parsing quirk than a Trados issue – SRT files are plain text with timestamps,
but different editors interpret line breaks and segmentation differently.                          nipr
CapCut is notorious for reflowing captions according to its own timing rules, so your translations are still there,
but visually the timing is all off. TL;DR, it’s a CapCut formatting limitation in the reading of SRT, not a change by Trados.

I hope it's helpful to you.

    Best Regard,
    Tamara
