Could you show us how to do this with SDL Trados Studio 2019? Things have changed and you don't have the same options as shown above.
I agree with Adrian Kominski. It is high time that SDL remove this feature. We are not supposed to ADD days of the week that are not in the source.

It's exactly the same in 2019 as it has been in previous versions. Here's a screenshot from 2019:
I agree with Adrian Kominski. It is high time that SDL remove this feature. We are not supposed to ADD days of the week that are not in the source.
Then don't use the option for long dates that adds the day of the week.
The day we remove this is the day we find out how many people use it. It seems to be fairly standard to have these long date formats in most countries and apart from you and Adrian I have never seen anyone complaining out the fact they are there as optional formats.

The real problem in the past has been the fact that it was enabled by default, which is ridiculous given that - contrary to what you're suggesting - it is definitely NOT standard to have the verbal day of the week before the date (what would be the purpose of that anyway?). Maybe it's standard in classified CIA reports, but I never translated those in my 8 years' experience.
At present it is not the default setting (or is it?), which is great, and I am positive nobody's missing it.

From nearly 30 years of experience - I've NEVER seen a document, where a weekday would be used in the date. But it is sitting there since Trados 3.0 or even earlier... This should NOT be the default, but can fairly remain an option.

Yes, or many people simply have lived with it for all those years without complaining, as a) they found logging to the forums and posting their opinion too difficult or too time-consuming b) they don't complain about things by nature (which is a very common attitude, though actually slowing down the world's progress somewhat)

Indeed I've never been complaining about that, as I simply switched this off. Neither in German nor in Polish (and from what I see also in English) it is standard to use weekdays in long dates. Maybe on special occasions, when the weekday counts (Easter holiday for example) it might be useful, but this should be optional.

I totally agree with Jerzy, Adrian and Evzen. It can in very rare situations be useful to have this option with the weekdays, but please don't define the long format with the weekday as a default setting. I constantly have to point people to where they can turn this option off.
I also agree that it should not be the default. It's certainly not the rule in Spanish to add the days of the week if they were not in the source, so I've disabled it and have had to set up a verification rule to catch any instances I may miss.
