Excluding locked segments from the "Not Translated" character count in [Editor]

Question

I would like to exclude locked segments from the "Not Translated" character count at the bottom of the [Editor] window, so that I know how much work I have left to do. How do I do this?

This isn't possible. You can exclude from the analysis as you probably know (depending on your Studio version) but not from the count in the toolbar. Does seem like an obvious enhancement though. 
 
Perhaps the solution is to select all the locked segments and then set the status to "translated". This way your stats will more accurately reflect your work as you would prefer.

Apologies for the late response. Have you tried using the WIP report in the batch tasks? This reports or locked segments separately in telling you exactly what work you have left to do, or you can use the option to exclude them from the report altogether. 
 
The indicator on the bottom right is just that... an indicator. It would be better if there was an option to change what's included, but as there isn't at the moment try the WIP report. It's fast and a more details report on the amount of work you have done and what's left to do, but still easily readable.

 Wrong. Although if you use the confirm command to do this then of course it will. But if you just select all these segments and right-click change the status without any update command then all you do is ensure that they are considered when counting the work that is left to do. Or maybe use the sdlxliff toolkit for example, as this would let you change the status of them all in one go more easily.

 Give that a try and see if it'll deliver what you wanted. There are quite a lot of options in there, including how to handle locked segments, and this may save you a lot of messing around.

After running the report click on the reports view in the navigation pane in the left. All the reports from the batch tasks are maintained there.

 Having said that you may be able to set the status of the locked segments if you use the SDLXLIFF Toolkit as it doesn't use Studio to effect the change and can probably add the appropriate Status to the locked segments. I haven't tested it but I reckon that might work.
