There is no such function in Trados I'm afraid.

If the gap is so big between segments, you can edit a bit the target file before starting the alignment.

Apart from Anca's workaround, you can Insert a segment before (or after the actual segment) and edit a bit the Alignment project (such as moving the text from segment 27 to the newly created segment 897.

Thank you for your reply. That's disappointing to hear.

I recently had two consecutive projects where I was provided only with .sdlalign files and asked to check the alignment. As a result, I found myself wishing for this feature, as it would have been very helpful in those situations.
