Good morning Arja, we have been facing this problem on our side as well but only on one of our systems although all five have the same setup/configuration. After reinstallation it is working fine now, but I would advise to use reinstallation as the last solution only. Best - Renate Dockhorn

Might be worth pointing out that the MSWord Spellcheck/Grammar check (https://appstore.rws.com/Plugin/84) is not supported any more, and has been causing issues for a long time. This is why the description to the plugin has this caveat:

This plugin is not supported. If it causes problems in performance, or doesn't work well it will not be updated. It's no longer possible to improve the way this plugin works. The recommended choice for grammar checking is the Language Tool plugin.

Not entirely sure whether LT supports Finnish, but they are developing the tool very actively, and you should look at their forum and at-mention @dnaber: https://forum.languagetool.org/t/finnish-language/4981.

LT is an incredibly useful program. Worth paying for, but you can also use the free version or run it on your own machine (which is also free and offers more functionality). You'd still need to get it to support Finnish, it seems, but you might even be able to get Tommi Nieminen on board for this, who knows? ;)

Hello Renate and thank you for your reply. I'm afraid reinstallation is the only solution for me, but I still have to work on some projects before that. Luckily, I can run the spellchecker in Word in these cases.

Hello Daniel, thank you for your reply. As far as I know LT does not support Finnish but thanks for your suggestions and for the link. I really hope there will be a solution for this problem soon. I never experienced any problems with spellchecking in Studio until I updated to Trados Studio 2024 Freelance.
