But you can generate a sdlxliff file, containing what you wish and then export that one for bilingual review. To do so, use Advanced Display filter to filter on Unlocked segments and then press the Generate button there. When you then open the generated sdlxliff, it should contain only unlocked segments and can be exported as needed.

What I meant is that when I export my file to to a regular Word file, or to Word for bilingual review, basically to run the spelling and grammar check, I would like to hide certain segments (say, those that are locked, or CMs, or CMs and 100% matches), so as to run the check only on a given type of segment. (In two-column format, you pretty much have to hide your source column to run the spelling and grammar check.)

I guess I need to take a look at the suggestions forum someone mentioned the other day. :)

I don't think you can generate a target document with an extract of the original source. And if you filter for certain segments, then export the sdlixliff, check it in whatever way you wish, importing this back to your project will not be easy, as there is (from what I know) no way to do that in a direct way.

As for the colors, you can adapt them when exporting for bilingual review.

So a better idea would be to lock the segments you do not want to have checked and run the checks within Trados Studio. I do not know your languages, but you could consider using Language Terminal to check the grammar. This is at least as good as the grammar checker in Word. There is also a plugin for grammar checking with Word: https://appstore.rws.com/Plugin/84

All this will cause you far less hassle than what you try to achieve by exporting the file.

One thing, if you don't mind the workaround, and only need to spell and grammar check, that is fairly straightforward would be this:

• install studioViews from the appstore
• filter on the segments you need in the editor
• export as an sdlxliff using studioViews
• add the sdlxliff to your project
• export for external review
• spell and grammar check
• update from external review
• import the updated sdlxliff using studioViews and this will update your original project with the changes

Or use the LanguageTool plugin as Jerzy suggested... probably a better option!
