i tried, and tried again also with alt+0160, but to no avail. I also tried the grouped search and only source search, it seems like it's not recognising the character at all.

I tried with trados 2021 as well..just in case...

besides that, why is the tag verifyer not telling me about the missing spaces in this one?

i also tried like this

but nothing...

I will try with another filetype as soon as i can, in case, i'll update you.

Hey Rita,

I ran into the same issue today!

It looks like the regex doesn’t work when added to an existing project, but if you save it in a project template first and then create a new project, it works fine.
(Does not make much sense to have to create a new project to add a quality check, though.)

You may be adding that regex rule in the wrong place. Apart from the difference between File>Options and Projects Settings, there are 2 places where you can add regex rules to Projects Settings:

and in the specific language combination:

The second place takes precedence over the first one, so if there is something in the second place, the new regex rules added to the first one will be just ignored. That maybe the reason why it’s not working for you. you can quickly check my point if you add a rule to find the letter 'a' in target, a very common letter, to the same place you added the non-breaking space rule. Does it work? If the new rule doesn’t work, you may try to add the rule to the second position…

I tested all your suggestions but nothing for happend to my original file (it was an mqxliff), so i tried with a sample in Word and it works! as a result of mixture of all your suggestions

the correct rule to catch it is the grouped search

the regex works only if inserted in the single languages in the already created project

and works perfectly if i saved them in the general rules in the template and create a new project

we'll leave it at that for now, but thanks a lot to all of you!!
