Trados Studio continuously encounters issues when handling files within the Microsoft OneDrive synchronized folders.

I am a Microsoft 365 user and use OneDrive to synchronize some important data folders on my computer in real-time, including translation project templates, translation memory, and translation termbases. I have also selected the option to "Always keep on this device" for these folders.

However, whenever Trados Studio processes translation projects using files from the OneDrive directory, I still loads these translation memories and termbases from the computer's hard drive. As a result, the terminology functionality in Trados Studio does not work properly and fails to recognize terms correctly.

Is there a solution to this problem? It would be preferable if the real-time synchronization feature of Microsoft OneDrive could continue to function, as OneDrive provides reliable real-time backup for data. Could you please increase the compatibility between Trados Studio and Microsoft OneDrive for real-time synchronization?

  • OneDrive is useful but I'd rather rely on the Trados Cloud. It's annoying that I have to contend with it so I can use STUDIO, having to disable it so it doesn't crash my project. I thought at first it was the latest update but I've become convinced that OneDrive is the problem. There were issues with 365 /Office opening documents from OneDrive and getting security warnings. I'll just disable OneDrive and save the files to the Cloud, especially with a big project. Meanwhile, can you tell me how to configure OD so it's not cloud only? It's easier than searching, but I'll do that anyways, like a good little student.
