I have Studio 2019 and every time I translate an Excel file on Trados I cannot save the target file and get the following message: "object reference not set to an instance of object". I have found out that this message pops up quite often, but I really don't know how to deal with this issue...
It is becoming a huge problem. Any help is welcome.
"object reference not set to an instance of object" is a very generic error message generated by the programming language Trados Studio was written in. It basically says "Uh-oh, I can't find something I need in order to work properly."
You don't provide enough information to allow us to help you. Which version of Excel was your file generated with? Which file format did you use to import it into Studio?
I translated many Excel files with Trados Studio 2019 and 2021, and I never ran into this. But I'm sure we can find a solution to this if you provide the necessary information. Next time the error pops up, you will see a little floppy disk symbol in the bottom left (?) corner of the dialogue box. Click on that to save the details of the error (called the "stacktrace").
