Why just switching to the Translation Memories tab takes so long?

For years now, just switching to the Translation Memory in Studio takes an eternity. OK, let's say minutes. But it's way too long, if you consider that it also locks my Studio interface and makes me unable to do anything during that time.

I have to mention I always have the latest updated versions, and that Studio is necessarily uninstalled then reinstalled at each new update.

So why, just opening that tab (I even do not try to access to a specific memory) is that long? Actually, when Studio gives me back the hand, I can open any memory in a couple of seconds, but I cannot figure why just opening a tab is that long...

This definitely doesn't sound right.  I added around 50 TMs to my navigation pane in the Translation Memories View and tested tested a little (no sound... it's late!).  Whilst the Beta Manager, Reports view are pretty sluggish (as we know) the Translation Memories View is almost instant... ish.

It may be worth doing some testing with your security software switched off, and maybe also note where all these resources are stored.  Just guessing but perhaps you store them on OneDrive (or similar) and you have it set to only pull down from the cloud for use when you activate them.  So that could mean Studio can only see the footprint and tries to download them before presenting them in the list without spinning.

Does this happen after you have done it the first time, or every time one after the other as I just did in the video?  If not then synching is most likely, but if so then I'd check your security software and mke sure that it's configured correctly to exclude the Trados Studio application from scanning.

Sometimes it takes a minute to hide the hourglass mouse icon after opening the Translation Memory view (Trados Studio 2022, build 17.2.9.18688). It usually takes that time only the first time I open that view, then it’s OK. Today I could repro once, but after restarting Studio it worked fine. Weird, but it certainly happens to me as well for the last months and only sometimes...
