Error notification when creating new termbase (file could not be found)

Hello! I am trying to create a new termbase and when I klick finish, the program keeps showing the following error: "Die angegebene Datei konnte nicht gefunden werden" (The file could not be found). I have repeated the process several times with step-by-step instructions since I am doing the online course Trados Studio Level 1 (Module 7 - working with termbases). Although I am doing the exact same thing as described in the video, the notification keeps showing up. Can someone help? I am working with Trados Studio 2022 Professional. Thanks in advance!

  • Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble creating a new termbase in Trados Studio 2022 Professional. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Ensure that your Windows OS is up to date. You can do this by typing "Check for updates" in the Windows Search bar and selecting the option when it appears. Install any pending updates and restart your computer. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Step 2: Repair your Trados Studio and MultiTerm installations. You can do this from the Control Panel. If you need guidance on how to do this, you can find articles on repairing your installation of Trados Studio and MultiTerm Desktop in the RWS Support section.

Step 3: Change the folder name or file path where the termbase is being saved to something simpler, without special characters, if applicable.

If you're still experiencing issues after following these steps, please don't hesitate to ask for further assistance. I'm here to help!
