Project not responding in Trados

Good afternoon, 

I am having an issue with some files which are around 44,500 KB each. I have created a separate project per language and there is only one file for each language however each time I try to do anything such as locking repetitions I just get a message to say that Trados is not responding. I've tried copying everything to my desktop, recreating the project and opening the projects on my colleague's PC but nothing seems to fix it. I think it might be due to the size of the files but we've handled files of this size before so I'm wondering if there is a way around it. For now, I am attempting to lock the repetitions in batches but this is quite time consuming so if there may be another workaround I would really appreciate some suggestions.

      I have sent you an email about this already, but I'll add the information here as well, for the wider community. I have created a project with your large xml file and your custom file type, and the project creation took a long time, even without your TM. Fact is, any xml file converted to sdlxliff will become much bigger, and especially if the custom file type uses embedded Html (which was your case), it can get huge; your file turned into an sdlxliff of 240 MB. If you combine such a file with a huge TM, you will quickly run into performance issues.

    In these cases, it may be worthwhile to create the same project in your Trados cloud space, since in that case the processing is done in the cloud and not on your desktop. But ideally, the client should split up the xml file in smaller chunks.
