Migration Studio 2017/2019 to a new computer

Question

I used Studio 2017 on my previous computer (I also purchased an upgrade for Studio 2019, which I hardly ever used). After a full backup, I deactivated the license on the first computer and activated the Studio 2019 license on the new computer (I don't want to use Studio 2017 anymore). 
 The current version is Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.8.3007 
 In the backups, the two folders are : Studio 2017 and Studio 2019. 
 I want to use the Studio 2017 projects and memories in Studio 2019. When I try to open a project from the folder "Studio 2017", I get the following message: 
 Erreur &times; X Memoire de traduction "C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\Studio 2017\Translation Memories\IT visure.sdltm" introuvable. Cliquez sur OK pour specifier son emplacement ou sur Annuler pour desactiver cette memoire de traduction. OK Annuler 
 The plug in DeepL Translation Provide no longer works either. 
 Should I go back to Studio 2017 ?

No, you don't need to go back.

You can open your existing projects in Studio 2019 by opening them from the folder where they are currently stored (..\Documents\Studio 2017).
You may also opt to copy the contents of this folder to "..\Documents\Studio 2019" so that you get access to all your old projects.

Concerning the translation memories: when Studio issues the warning that it cannot find the TM, simply navigate to the proper directory where this TM is located.

A useful hint: do NOT store your translation memories in the folder "..\Documents\Studio 201x" but create a separate folder for your TMs, e.g. "Translation Memories", so that the path does not change when you update to a new version of Studio.
