Can’t choose the right language for my translatable file

Hi,

I am trying to create my first project. When I try to add a file, I can only choose French as the language of my source file, but it should be English. Can you help me? Thank you!

Trados Studio project creation screen with an error message stating 'Some files are invalid. Try to fix the errors or remove the invalid files.' The source language is set to English (Canada) and target language is set to French (Canada).

  • Hello,

I understand that you're having trouble setting the correct source language for your project in Trados Studio. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this issue:

    Step 1: Open Trados Studio.

Step 2: Go to "File" in the top menu.

Step 3: Select "Options" from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: In the Options window, click on "Editor" on the left side.

Step 5: Under the Editor options, click on "Languages".

Step 6: In the Default Languages settings, you should see the current source language set as French.

Step 7: Click on the drop-down menu next to Source Language and select English.

Step 8: Click "OK" to save your changes.

Now, when you create a new project or add a new file, English should be available as the source language. If you continue to experience issues, please ensure that your Trados Studio is up to date with the latest updates.
