m/d/yy recognized incorrectly

Hi, I just have started using Trados and came across this problem:

Screenshot showing Trados Studio source text with date formatted as '11723' highlighted.

  • The date in the source is formatted in m/d/yy
  • My QuickPlace list offers only '2011/07/23', which is yyyy/mm/dd

I'm sorry if someone has answered a similar post, but does anyone know how to get the system to recognize m/d/yy date properly?

  • Hello,

It seems like you're having trouble with date formatting in Trados Studio. The issue might be due to the system locale settings on your computer. Here's how you can adjust them:

Step 1: Click on the Start menu or Search bar on your computer.

Step 2: Enter the word "Region" in the search bar.

Step 3: Once the Region settings appear, click on it.

Step 4: On the right, click on "Additional date, time & regional settings".

Step 5: Click on "Change date, time & regional settings".

Step 6: At the Format section, click on the drop-down list.

Step 7: Find "English (United States)" in the list and select it.

Step 8: Click on "Apply" to save the changes.

This should help Trados Studio recognize the m/d/yy date format properly. If the issue persists, you might want to check for updates within the application or refer to the user manual for more detailed instructions.

    Best regards,
