Translation results window suggests a word which doesn't exist in TM

Hi Trados Gurus

There are some cases when I catch a bit of untranslated text in the target side. For instance "МЭК" in the screenshot below

Screenshot of Trados Studio interface showing a segment with untranslated text ' ' highlighted in the target side.

So I rush and open my TM to check and correct the mistake but it is not there (not at all).

Thought it could be a term insertion from term base, but the issue remains with TBs disables.

Trados Studio Translation Memory search window with ' ' entered in the Target Text field, displaying 'No translation units to display'.

What could cause such behavior?  does it relate to upLift?

Trados Studio Project Settings window with Fragment Matching Options for upLIFT highlighted, indicating potential settings affecting translation.

But if so,

1. shouldn't it be somehow shown with a color or strikeout?

2. where it takes that IEC = МЭК if it it not in my TM (where target language is English and suppose to be IEC)

Any idea what actually happens and how to avoid such situations?

I don't think this is coming from Match Repair.  If it was you would have that small orange wrench symbol next to the fuzzy score in the TM results window, and you don't.

Meanwhile, what if I need to clearly see such Match Repairs and not overlook them in pretranslation

You would... you would see the wrench against the score.

On the problem... it's hard to give a conclusive answer for several reasons:

    1. we don't know if it's the same TM? You obscured the TM name in one screenshot, and then showed it in another.  But we don't know if they are the same TM.
    2. it may be related to acronym recognition, but you also hid that part of the screenshot so we can't see if it was recognised

Given you say it's not in your TM what happens if you disable your TMs and then use a brand new TM?  Add one TU that uses IEC in the translation and the source, then see if a source with МЭК is recognised automatically.
