When I want to create an alignment with html documents, I get an error message:
Erreur : Impossible d’ouvrir le fichier d’entrée pour
traduction. Syntaxe non valide trouvée à la ligne : 1, colonne :
1443.
Origine : XHTML 1.1 v 2.0.0.
Do you know
where the error could be coming from and how to resolve it?

Probably the file. Can we see it?
If not try dragging it into a browser and see if it picks up some invalid syntax. If it doesn't we'd definitely need to see the file.

We went basically onto the website, saved the page as we usually do under .html format.
We have it for absolutely all the pages of the website.
I am not able to enclose these kind of files here but I do share the link of the EN version we want to align with the FR one:
Thanks for that... I have logged a case for this because I think there is an inconsistency in behaviour, but at least there's an easy solution!!
When you open these files in Studio directly they use the HTML filetype, and this is correct. But when you use the alignment module the XHTML filetype is used and this will cause a problem because these files are both invalid XHTML. The reason being it's full of opening tags with no closing tags and whilst HTML is forgiving, XHTML is not.
So, the solution is to simply change the order of the filetype in your default settings under File -> Options like this... so you probably have this:
Just swap them to this:
So now HTML is above XHTML in the list. Now when you use the alignment module the HTML will be used instead and you shouldn't get an error.... this works for me anyway1

You will need to use the workaround I gave you until this gets fixed. Fortunately it's a trivial workaround.
