Studio 2021 editor apostrophe in contractions moves cursor

Question

When typing my translations in the Editor of Trados Studio 2021, every time I type a contraction with an apostrophe in it (isn't, can't didn't etc.) the cursor position shifts to the left of the letter following the apostrophe, "pushing" it along as I type and requiring manual intervention. This is not an issue with my keyboard settings in Windows as I am able to type the contractions with apostrophes normally in other text editors and Word. If I type "didn't" in the Studio editor, I end up with "didn'_t" with the underscore symbolizing the position of the cursor following my typing of the final "t". 
 My templates and setting are carried over from Studio 2019 and I never experienced this problem before. I wonder if there is a new setting where apostrophe handling behavior in the editor is changed.

Hi James McMillan Yes the sneaky cursor that jumps. There have been fixes and reviews done for 2022 that help improve the overall Editor UX and stability. This is one area that was tested but that is for 2022 and you are on 2021. Historically the mode in which you opened the Editor view seemed to make a difference for some. Example Review mode. Alternatively playing with AutoCorrect settings, but that could be specific to user case. Do you have access to 2022 all be it for trail purposes to see if your specific use case was addressed?

I know this post is three years old, but I had the same problem and found another solution, which was to disable the 'Replace "straight quotes" with smart quotes' option under Options > Editor > AutoCorrect. (The first thing I tried was switching my keyboard to US instead of Int'l, but in my case that did not solve the problem. Even if it had, it would not be a good solution for me as I am so accustomed to using Int'l that if I try to use US I am constantly automatically hitting the space bar after every punctuation mark to skip the dead key and instead adding spaces to all of my contractions )
