After installing a Windows update this morning, Studio is just showing a blank screen for the "Projects" tab. All of my previous projects are gone from the list. I opened one from its file location and, after closing it, it disappeared again from the Projects view. Any ideas of what might be going on?

Check the projects filters in the project view. They shall read "All projects".

Make sure the file called "projects" within project folder is not hidden. It happened to me and I even re-stored my computer from Acronis backup.
Thanks, but it did alrady read "All Projects" but I can't see my Projects which means I can't remove them, and I have to do my return package with each project file.
I checked that and all is the same as before, the project file is still there, but the project does not show, only the files and editor
Someone has to give you a medal for this answer. It's such a simple solution and no-one could have thought of it, including me! 
I even 'repaired' Trados
