Thanks for sending me the file.  I actually have no problem opening this file at all, using Studio 2015 as well as more recent versions.

I tested using a single document approach and also by creating a standard Studio project... both methods work just fine.  Can you provide any more information on what happens for you?  Is there a warning message, or just nothing happens?

Could you be using a Project Template that has the XLIFF filetype disabled?

Also... did you unzip the file and save to your desktop (or another folder) before trying to open it?

I started the same procedure once again. The difference is that, this time, I joined the files and not the folder to TRADOS. Now it works. But both sides of TRADOS contain now the French version and I must overwrite it on the right side. Any recommandation for that?

ok... so it might have worked before but was just a navigation issue using the pane on the left?  Anyway, good job you have figured it out.

Sometimes the target in an XLIFF is unpopulated and there is a setting in Studio to copy the source to target, or not.  But in your case the target is already in the XLIFF.  So how you handle this now is up to you.  Some translators like to translate over the target, some like to clear the target completely first.

How do you want to handle it?

I will probably overwrite in order to keep tags etc.
