How can I make sure that a segment is not added to the translation memory?

Dear All, 
 I have been hired for an English to Bulgarian translation project but the client keeps sending me .xliff files in which part of the content is in Russian. Naturally, I do not want any Russian content imported into my English to Bulgarian translation memory. And as a matter of fact, the client does not even want those segments in Russian translated in the first place. 
 So, how should I mark those unwanted segments to make sure that they are not imported into my TMs? Just leave untranslated? Leave untranslated and then lock them? Mark them as rejected? Please, advise.

 Maybe take a novel approach.... if you have this for example: 
 
 Use the advanced display filter with this: 
 \p{IsCyrillic}+ 
 That will get you something like this hopefully: 
 
 Now just select them all and lock them so they can be excluded from your updates: 
 
 Then filter on unlocked and work as required:

 If you work interactively and they are locked then obviously they won't go in your TM as youll be skipping these segments. 
 If you run a batch task locked segments are skipped by default. Here's an example to help:

Hi Pavel, 
 If the Russian content has to remain in the Target document then all you need to do is leave the Source segment untranslated. They will not be saved to your TM if you leave them untranslated. Lock these segments. 
 Both untranslated and draft status will prevent the segment from being added to your TM. If the job is going to be handled by someone else such as a project manager after delivery, I always lock any TU's that should not enter the TM and/or the Target document.

 I should have also said that if you leave the Source content untranslated and keep the status of untranslated, the source will automatically flow into the translated document but not the TM.
