Problem in inserting a TM into a project: "Failed to create settings page"

Question

Repeated problem with Trados Studio 2019. 
 Many times, I am trying to insert a TM in a project via the usual route (Project settings/All language pairs/ etc) and I get the message "Failed to create settings page." 
 How do I fix this?

 In this case the issue was caused by change in the TM segmentation rules and variables list. Once Studio was restarted, it solved the issue.
