On my computer I've got Office 2016 Professional Plus and Office 2010 Professional. The problem is that in Preview, Trados utilizes Microsoft Word from the Office 2016 package rather than the one from the 2010. I prefer 2010, because it acts faster in Trados and is more reliable. How can I change the default Word to be used by Preview?

Studio always defaults to the latest version of Office it detects and ASFAIK, doesn't have the option of selecting a different Office version.
It would be therefore good to hear from anyone else who has successfully deployed a multi office environment.
Might be also worth noting- Office 2010 will be retired from MS support- which will mean that we (SDL) will no longer support this version.

Thanks for the info. The problem with Office 2016 is that it creates multiple instances under the Studio, a new one each time I refresh the Preview. As a result, at the end of the day I may have as many as 60 instances of Word running in the background, which slows my computer visibly. Might be good looking at it in future releases.
This would be a good suggestion to add to the Ideas section for Studio here:

I'm not sure if this one should go to the Ideas section, as it feels more as a bug than a new idea ;) I also don't know what the behaviour is in Studio 2019 - my observation comes from the 2017 version.

This doesn't happen in Studio 2019 on my setup but I have the most recent version of Office always as I use the subscription version which is constantly updated.
Maybe it is specific to Studio 2017 with Office 2016 or of course a Word bug?
