Please try also moving the file type up in the list - Trados Studio goes down the list when looking for a file type filter to apply and stops at the first one in the list matching the extension. This is why the version 2007-2013 has to be the first Word file type in the list.

Please click on the file settings icon, and go to the File Types:

And using the 'Move Up' button put 2007-2013 as the first Microsoft Word file type:

So it looks like this:

And then add the translatable file to the project and proceed with the rest of the project creation.

Thank you for your help. This seems to have worked to get past the first and second stages, "Convert to translatable format" and "Copy to target languages", but now it gets stuck on the following stages and I get an error message that says "The document cannot be processed since it contains unexpected contents". Any idea what could be happening? Thanks again.
