Whenever there are messages, warnings related to a document, each time it's opened in the Editor the Messages window will be displayed, so we can see these warnings immediately. This cannot be changed I'm afraid.
If there are no messages, the Translation memory results tab will be first shown.
In your screenshot as well Studio was telling about an issue, possibly in connection with the termbase. Which version of Studio are you using, could you please confirm? Do you often receive this message?
