I think we need a little more information here to be able to help.
When is this happening? Is this part of a word or an abbreviation?
Are you working with a client package?
The more information and you can provide the better- screen shots are also very useful.

You could try File > Options > Editor > AutoCorrect and uncheck "Replace text as you type" or search for that abbreviation in the list and delete it.
