To disable the automatic updates go to File > Options:
However, it should not prompt you to update it that often, I wonder if it suggest that you have a lot of pending updates.
It would be a good idea to first perform the pending ones and then turn of the automatic check option.
(There will not be a lot of update moving on, as this version of MultiTerm is reaching its end of support.)
