Strange fuzzy matches of single word segments

There was another similar topic 2 years ago. Has there been any improvement on this? See for example the totally irrational matches of this image.

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing two translation match results with 66% match. The first result pairs 'INITIAL STS' with a Greek word, and the second pairs 'FAIL STS' with a different Greek word.

I fail to see (pun intended) what there is in common between STS and INITIAL or FAIL.

    Hi

    Try going to the settings for your TM and turning off "Acronym" recognition:

    Home->Project Settings->Language Pairs, find your TM, then click on "Settings" (for the TM), click on "Fields and Settings", then clear the checkbox for "Acronyms"

    Studio apparently considers all acronyms (i.e. words in all caps) to be equivalent for fuzzy matching, so if it finds a segment containing just an acronym, then it will fuzzy match it with another segment in the TM containing just an acronym -- any acronym.

    After being hit by this problem several times, I turned off acronym recognition in all my TMs. (Just another one of Studio's "feature" I have turned off ...)
