If you download the version provided in the Download section of 'My Account' you will soon be offered the opportunity to update to the latest version via the update search that takes place on opening Studio.

I understand what you say but actually I would rather take the version that is offered in the My Account pages, load it then accept whatever upgrades are on offer after that. This is because it means the software updates itself in logical increments... PLUS if I have learned that for whatever reason the latest cumulative update has dragged in some unintentional 'glitches' then I can sidestep them and not use that update...

Call me old fashioned but it works for me...

Thanks for your swift reply. I understand your point of view (in Studio, it's always good to be able to sidestep), but since every update, even for a CU, now always involve a full uninstall and then install, the current procedure takes too much time. And users always ask why it is necessary to repeat the entire procedure after the initial installation ...

Anyway, how about adding your shortcut idea to the Studio and MultiTerm Ideas sections of the Community. A shortcut on the Downloads page to the latest version of Studio and of MultiTerm would be useful, you are right.

Your answer surprises me a little. I performed initial installations and updates quite often during the last weeks and found that each time, the (automatic) procedure includes an uninstall of the entire program plus re-install of the the entire program (=update), even if it is only only a CU.

I will add an idea to the Ideas section anyway. Thanks!

Ah, I see... you mean the automatic procedures that are listed in the installation dialog. I thought you meant manually uninstalling the previous version before manually installing the new version.
