My first guess here however, is that your client is maybe themselves using GS2014 and not GS 2017.

Please double check with your client first. If they are using GS 2017, please ask them to log a support ticket on yourbehalf so that we can look at this in greater detail.

I have finally solved the problem using the App SDL Freshstart in the SDL AppStore, as suggested in another post, and restoring files with plugins and server's addresses stored in the SDL folder.
