Do you mean packages or projects? If you mean packages, are you using the Freelance version? If so, you cannot create packages with it. You can only create return packages from packages you have received from a client. Only SDL Studio Professional can make packages.

If, as Steve assumes, you mean projects and you have tried the solutions in Steve's shortcut, take a look here if you want to try and find a solution yourself:

Hi Alison,

I have the Professional version and in my other computer I have no problems at all. It's only on the personal one. I can open projects that other send me already created, but cannot create a new one. It opens directly this message. I have tried to repair, to uninstall and reinstall, but always the same. I'll have to go to the installation help then.

Have you remembered to add all the components of SDL Trados Studio and MultiTerm to your AntiVirus exceptions list? Or Whitelist as people tend to call it these days...

If you contact Installation Help, they'll be able to check this for you...

Thank you for your help. A technician found the solution, it was on the default route Trados was looking for. It had 2 predetermined and one of them was wrong.

Hi, Alison Field and Begoña Pereira Conde, I have the Freelance Plus version and I'm facing the same problem to create new projects. (I had to reinstall the software after formatting the computer, and now I cannot create projects).

Could you help me solving this problem, maybe regarding this 'default route'? Thanks in advance.

It gives 3 things you can do to resolve the above error message.

It may not be the solution in your case. If you've reinstalled the software, it may simply require a Windows Repair as described here:

If that does not work (or if you find that too complicated to implement), then at the very end of the above page is a link you can use to access free help with problems resulting after installation, here is a link and fuller instructions on how to use it:

Fill out the form selecting 'Installation' at the Case Type dropdown menu, explain your problem and give them an accurate email address to contact you on as that is how they will contact you.
