AnyTM

Hi everyone!

I have a question regarding the use of TMs when working in opposite language direction.

I have two TMs, Russian-English and English-Russian. I have noticed that if I work in one main TM (e.g. RU-EN), with update box checked, and use another TM using AnyTM provider (e.g. AnyTM: EN-RU with update checkbox unchecked) for reference, then when I change the TMs for opposite language direction, the studio found no results.

I have addressed this issue to a support specialist who has advised that I should always use both TMs via AnyTM, both AnyTMs with update checkbox checked, i.e. AnyTM: EN-RU (update checkbox checked) and AnyTM: RU-EN (update checkbox checked). Otherwise, I won't see RU-EN (or EN-RU, as the case may be) results when changing the language direction.

With this recommended method, the studio works perfectly well and shows the results, regardless of the language direction. However, I have doubts as to whether it's ok and necessary to check the update flag for both TMs. As I understand, this means that the TMs will be updated with mismatching content, and overloaded. I have file-based TMs, one of which is already more than 50k TUs.
