Trados 2007- "Incorrect number of arguments"

Hello, I use Windows 7. I've reinstalled Trados 2007 many times but this time I have an error message in Word when I want to use Trados. The error message is "Microsoft Visual Basic- Nombre d'arguments incorrect ou affectation de propriété incorrecte" (Translation: Incorrect number of arguments or allocation of property incorrect). I've uninstalled and reinstalled both MS Office and Trados many times. But I still get this error message. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks

  • Thanks for your reply.

If I leave the file TRADOS8.dotm (in addition to the file TRADOS8.dot) in the folder C:\Users\Pascal\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP, then I get the error message described initially. But the good thing is that I get a Trados menu in Word.

If I remove the file TRADOS8.dotm (and only leave the file TRADOS8.dot) in the folder C:\Users\Pascal\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP, then I don't get the error message described initially. But the sad thing is that I don't have a Trados menu in Word, I can still access the Trados functions but they are included in the 'Complements' menu of Word and the use of Trados functions is very slow.

Now, to reply to your question, if I use TagEditor, then I don't get the error message described initially.

So I could use TagEditor but then I've got another problem: the spell checking function is not accessible (the button is greyed).

The ideal for me would be to be able to use Trados with the presence of the Trados menu in Word. There is no valid reason why I could not use the same configuration (same Trados and same Word versions) on the same computer (that I've used for years).

Maybe the problem lies in the presence or absence of the proper Trados8.dot and/or Trados8.dotm file(s) in the proper folder.

    Hope you can help further.

    Thanks
