Help please - output .po file - translation empty

Question

Hi, 
 I have just completed the translation of a .po file for a WordPress plugin into French but when exporting the target file and opening it with Notepad, only the English text appears. " msgstr", which I believe should contain the French version, is empty. Is there something that I am doing wrong? 
 PS: I have Exported my project as a Bilingual Review and the French version is here. I have also exported it as a .sdlxliff file in the hope that I might be able to convert it to a *.po file at a later stage but the "msgstr" part of the sdlxliff file that I opened in Notepad is still empty (???)

 Can you post a snippet of the file itself? You can change the text we just need to see the structure of the source file.

Realise this is very late but I think I just ran into the same issue. The issues seems to arise when you try to save your translated po file under the same name as the original po file. When I did that, I got either an empty po file OR when trying to open the po file with a po editor like Virtaal I get "file contains nothing to translate" or in Poedit I get some "line error". 
 It seems to go away when you save the file under a different name, so if you had translateme.po maybe just try saving it as translateme-done.po and see if that fixes the issue
