Comparison of two tables

Hello guys,

I just want to do the following case and im not sure how to do it:

I would like to have one excel table on the left side of the editor window. On the right side should be a

already (earlier) translated version of the same table. So i can compare them and adjust the already translated table in some cases.

Is that possible ? Should both tables belong to one project or should there be two projects ?

    I would use the alignment function to align the source Excel table with the previous translation thereof. When create a project for that table you can either do a Perfect Match or let Studio pretranslate from the TM you stored the alignment TUs in. When you open the file in the editor, you should get the previous translation shown on the right side.

    Alternatively, depending a bit on how your Excel table looks, you could copy the previous translations into the Excel table (this will only work if all the translatable text is in one column and all the already translated text can be copied into another column. If you can do that, you could import the file as bilingual Excel file.

    Personally, I'd go the way with alignments.
