TM does not open

Question

When I try to open my TM, it does a Search instead. As this is a very big file (4,000,000 KB) I wonder if it is the reason why I am having this problem. 
 I tried to open it 10 minutes ago, and it is still stuck in Search mode, instead of simply opening. 
 This error does not always appear. I can open other, smaller files. 
 
 I work with Trados 2017 Freelance.

Although the TM is rather large and indeed would open much slower obviously than smaller ones- 
there are a couple of things to check- 
 
Is the TM stored on a network drive? Locally? Do you use a standard or SSD drive? 
Using an SSD drive can significantly improve access speed- whilst a TM stored on a network drive can be sometimes very slow. 
You can also try reindexing the TM- there is an app that helps you do this-

Also maybe look at the size of your RAM - we recommend 8GB of RAM
